Latch Key

  • by Sean Richard Clifton

    Dwindling resolve amongst the parentals,
The functioning slaughters with the tidal,
Waves igniting the end of the childhoods,
    Hark! Where art thou father?
Guidance is translucent in the waters,
    Teachers enlisting upon the maximums,
Nothing there to gander the truths,
    Hark! Where art thou father?
    Undertows dragging the bloody children,
Guns illuminating the toy store like surf,
Playing is all that they wanted to do,
    Hark! Where art thou father?
    Sands replacing the tears,
Solitary is all they have known,
Wash away the pain in the tide,
    Hark! Where art thou father?
    Crashing, rolling loud as thunder,
    Seas eclipsing the crimson carpet,
    Where does it all end,
    Hark! Where art thou father?
