Atheist Poetry is a collection of contemporary poetry written
by Atheists celebrating the creativity of man, a creativity and inspiration
which comes from within. Poems are chosen from the wide variety of poem
submitted to Atheist Poetry. Our most eminent poets are represented
in the selections, but also poets who are less well known.
The weekly poem is selected for its topical or special interest, as
well as for its literary quality. Included with each weekly poem are
information about the poet and a short description of the inspiration
behind the poem, when available.
Our purpose is to make a site where Atheist poets and writers can have
a place to celebrate and share their works with everyone. Future goals
will be to have the first collection of poems written by Atheists published
in book form, contests offering prizes to winning poets, a showcase
of short stories written by Atheists and more. .
If this is your first visit to Atheist Poetry, let us welcome
you with a poem by Mark A. Napier, Generation
of a Poem, a piece that captures inspiration and the process in
which it takes us over. We hope to give you the means of experiencing
new poetry by Atheists in this way.
